  • Notice of Passing of Municipal-Wide Development Charges - Dated October 25, 2024

    TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Township of East Garafraxa passed municipal-wide Development Charges By-Law 39-2024 on the 22nd day of October 2024 under section 2 (1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O., 1997 c. 27 (Act), as amended.

    AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) under section 14 of the Act, in respect of the development charges by-law, by filing with the Clerk of the Township of East Garafraxa on or before the 2nd day of December 2024 a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the by-law and the reasons supporting the objection.

    Dufferin County invites review and feedback on draft Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan

    Dufferin County is excited to announce the release of its draft Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan and invite community members to participate in shaping the future economic landscape of Dufferin.
    The draft Strategy and Action Plan, which reflects months of collaboration and input from local municipalities and industry groups, outlines the County's vision for a vibrant and sustainable economic future.
    The County is committed to creating a strategy that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of its community and values public input as an essential part of this process. Local industries, municipalities and community members are encouraged to have their say on the direction of Dufferin's growth, including actions focused on business support, workforce development, community infrastructure and investment attraction.

  • Two Seasonal Heavy Equipment Operators - November 4, 2024 to April 4, 2025

    Applicants must have at minimum, a DZ Licence and clean driving abstract. Experience driving and operating a tandem plow and wing and operating a loader is an asset. Must be available to work shifts and weekends, 40 hour minimum week. The position will be in effect from November 4, 2024 to April 4, 2025.

    Interested applicants are invited to submit a cover letter and resume, quoting file number 2024-01, either in person or by email. Positions will remain open until filled, and the first resume screening will take place on Monday, September 23, 2024.

  • NOTICE OF PASSING OF MUNICIPAL-WIDE DEVELOPMENT CHARGES BY-LAW AMENDMENT

    TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Township of East Garafraxa passed municipal-wide Development Charges By-Law Amendment No. 34-2024, amending By-Law 32-2019, being a By-Law for the Imposition of Development Charges, on the 27th day of August, 2024 under section 2 (1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S.O., 1997 c. 27, as amended.

    The purpose of By-Law Amendment No. 34-2024 is to delete the expiry date from By-Law 32-2019, providing additional time for Council and the public to review the available options before adopting a new By-Law.
