Stormwater and Drainage

The Municipal Stormwater Management (SWM) System serving the Township is a separate system for stormwater within the Grand River watershed. The Municipal SWM System consists of storm sewers, culverts, ditches, Stormwater Management Facilities and outlets.

The Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) dated January 22, 2024 covers the entire Municipal SWM System owned and operated by the Township. This ECA does not cover municipally, or privately owned sewage works on industrial or commercial land.

 The ECA is issued pursuant to the Environmental Protection Act, R.S.O 1990, c. E. 19 (EPA), and the regulations made thereunder and subject to the limitations thereof, under section 20.3 of Part II.1 of the EPA.

Thunderbird Drainage (Municipal Drain)

A Petition and Notice under the Drainage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. D. 17, has been received for the Thunderbird Drain.

This letter was circulated to those affected by the Thunderbird Municipal Drain. 

Please use the following instructions for accessing the meeting materials.

  1.  Visit www.headwayeng.ca
  2. Select ‘Public Engagements’ from the upper right corner.
  3. Find ‘Thunderbird Drain’ and select ‘Read More’.
  4. You will be prompted for a password. The Password is: EG-001

This is the initial meeting under the Drainage Act, and its primary purpose is for affected landowners to provide the engineer with information concerning the possible drainage works.
