Public Members are appointed by Council to certain special purpose bodies, concurrent with term of Council.  Anyone interested in serving must be a resident of the Township and not employed by the Board or the municipality. Below is a current list of Boards and Committees.

The Township is committed to equitable and inclusive participation of the public on boards and committees that govern and inform the work of the Township.

 Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA)

A 26-member Board of Directors, also known as the General Membership, oversees the operation of the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA). The board approves policies, programs and budgets.
  • Board members are appointed by municipal councils of participating municipalities, generally after municipal elections.

  • Smaller municipalities may share one representative, while larger municipalities may have one representative or more.

  • Municipalities may appoint elected officials or make citizen appointments, though it is required that 70 per cent of a municipality’s appointees are elected officials.

  • The GRCA General Membership usually meets on the fourth Friday of the month, at the GRCA Administration Centre (Google map). Meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. Board meetings are open to the public. Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings are currently being held virtually. Members of the public can stream the live meeting, and view agendas, minutes and meeting dates on our Board Meetings page
